Description for Remanufactured Engine "Long Block"
Except for Overhead Cam Engines
· Engine is disassembled, all freeze plugs and galley plugs are removed.
· Block is thoroughly cleaned, including the oil galleys, and checked for
cracks.
· Block is bored and power honed to next available size pistons.
· Surface of the crankshaft is checked with R.A. Meter.
· We don't use welded crankshafts.
· Main caps of the block are line honed (most). |

· Engine is completely re-cleaned before assembly.
· Valves are adjusted.
· Engine is tested on our run-in machine for oil pressure, compression, valve
adjustments,
oiling system, oil leaks and abnormal noises and to pre-oil the
engine.
· After testing, the main caps and rod caps are taken off to check for wear
pattern on the
bearing and put back and re-torqued. |
